The Times, They are a Changin’

Happy spring from The Yarnery! Much has happened since last year, in the world and at The Yarnery, but one thing is exactly the same: we can’t wait to host all of you at this year’s shop hop. While the prizes, specially dyed yarns, free patterns and other swag make the event awesome, there are two reasons we really love the hop.

First, we get to see friends from near and far, and hanging out with knitters is the best way we can think to spend time. Second, the shop hop’s focus on raising funds for Minnesota food shelves has yielded real results. With over $55,000 raised last year alone, knitters in Minnesota have become real agents for doing good in Minnesota, and The Yarnery is all about that. In fact, our credo basically says so:

At The Yarnery, we believe knitting can change the world, and that making and creating are powerful acts in a disposable world. We love to knit together, laugh together, and learn together. We believe in equality and respect and optimism.

As always, there will be lots to see at The Yarnery during the hop. We’ve continued to expand our Wearwithall pattern series, and our Pop! family of yarn has grown to include Sock, which we seriously love (two of our favorite Pop! Sock shades, Happiness and Riot, are smiling at you in the photo).

If you loved our 2016 hop yarn, we think you’ll be equally pleased this year (and we’ve ordered even more this year, we’re fairly certain our dyer is working 24/7). Ted Beverly has designed terrific patterns for the yarn, and we’re excited about our musical inspiration: a Nobel Prize-winning superstar with Minnesota roots.

Have a great hop!

Shelly, Scott and everyone at The Yarnery
